Student Leadership Council

Aldercourt Primary School is committed to providing students with opportunities to participate in the school wide decision making process. This opportunity shall be provided to students through the Student Leadership Council (S.L.C.)

Student representatives from Years 5 & 6 are elected in the previous year. Students prepare campaign posters and deliver elections speeches on voting day. The voting process is overseen by the Victorian Electoral Commission.

Student Leaders participate in a training program that sees them learn skills that will assist them in their role. Some of the skills covered in their training include formal meeting procedures, public speaking and event planning. The Student Leadership Council at Aldercourt also organises numerous events throughout the school year. Some past activities and projects have included:

  • Free Dress\Mufti Days
  • Aldercourt Idol
  • Fundraising for school based projects
  • World Vision Child Sponsorship
  • “Kids Rule The School Day” for Education Week.
  • Attending the Legacy Anzac Day Student Service.
